Your Impact
The Intellectual Property Executive role will be based in Jordan and will report to the Compliance Operations & IP Manager. They will be managing and maintaining the company’s Intellectual Property (IP) portfolio, focusing on IP bookkeeping and daily operational tasks. The Intellectual Property Executive will ensure proper handling of IP matters such as patents. This position involves handling routine IP operations and administration, reporting, and assisting in compliance with relevant regulations.
What You'll Do
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of the company’s IP assets, including patent, trademark, and copyright filings, renewals, and deadlines.
- Assist in the day-to-day handling of IP matters, such as document filing, correspondence with IP offices, and managing deadlines for filings and renewals.
- Support the IP supervisor in maintaining and tracking the company's IP portfolio, ensuring alignment with the business strategy.
- Assist in preparing and filing patent and trademark applications, ensuring timely submission and management of required documents.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, and product management, to ensure alignment on Intellectual Property strategy and innovation protection.
- Collaborate with external IP counsel as needed to support the preparation and filing of IP-related documentation, ensuring compliance with deadlines and procedures.
- Input and maintain IP-related data in internal databases or systems, ensuring accuracy and timely updates.
- Conduct preliminary patent and trademark searches and assist in monitoring competitor filings to identify potential risks or opportunities.
- Prepare regular reports on the status of the IP portfolio, including updates on renewals, filings, and any ongoing IP disputes or litigation, gathering evidence, managing discovery processes, and coordinating with external legal counsel.
- Conduct comprehensive Freedom to Operate (FTO) analysis to assess potential Intellectual Property infringement risks, draft FTO reports, and provide actionable recommendations to the business and stakeholders.
- Assist in ensuring adherence to internal IP policies and procedures, as well as compliance with local and international IP regulations.
- Provide general administrative support for the IP department, including document organization, record maintenance, scheduling, and preparing Intellectual Property-related agreements.
- Serve as the point of contact for internal stakeholders regarding basic IP inquiries and status updates, escalating complex matters to the IP supervisor when needed.
- Adhere to the quality standards and safety procedures as per the company guidelines and local regulations.
- Take appropriate actions in relation to any hazards and work-related issues, and escalate as needed, in order to ensure prompt and effective resolution.
- Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by the line manager, in order to ensure the fulfillment of organizational objectives.
What To Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Engineering, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in Intellectual Property operations management, administration, or a related field.
- Solid command of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficient in English.
- Organizational Skills, Administrative Skills, Communication Skills, Attention to Details, IP Laws Knowledge.
- Proficiency in using IP management systems.
- Intellectual Property Certification is preferred.
